Mount Calvary's Liturgical Dance Group was created in 2003 to continue to foster our Catholic identity. The young ladies in PreK through Eighth grade use choreography, created by a Bishop McNamara student volunteer, to praise and worship God and minister to the school and church community through dance. The group's motto is: I will do my best at everything I do!

The Mount Calvary Athletic Youth Organization functions under the guidance and leadership of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) of the Archdiocese of Washington and provides the opportunity for students to participate in spring and fall sports. Parent volunteers coordinate and coach students in a variety of sports, under the direction of the Archdiocesan CYO Office.
All adults who have substantial contact with children and who volunteer in the school or for other approved school and parish sponsored activities, including CYO, must comply with the Child Protection Policy of the Archdiocese of Washingon.
There is a fee for participation in any CYO athletic program. Students enrolled in Mount Calvary Catholic School are permitted to participate on other CYO teams if the parish does not sponsor a sport or field a team.

The Mount Calvary STEM Curriculum challenges each student to develop a deeper understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Each semester students are exposed to advanced science, technological, and engineering concepts that push the students to excel in critical thinking and performance using what they have been taught in class at Mount Calvary Catholic School.
First through Fourth Grade
First through Fourth grade students are given projects that are presented in a thematic format that compliment the core curriculum the children have been taught including Animals, Adventure Stories and Sports. For each theme the children build models and use the computer to program a robot to move, make music, or animal sounds. In addition, each theme has a specific focus including:
- Physical Science emphasizing gears and pulleys
- Technology emphasizing the concept of sensing and responding to external stimuli
- Mathematics and using measuring tools
- Language using a model to dramatize events, describe the sequence of events and creativity
Fifth Grade
Students in the Fifth grade are given a project that requires them to build an autonomous robot to perform specific tasks. They learn to calculate velocity and rotational dynamics for the robot, and program the robot to complete the tasks. In addition, they complete a research project of an environmental issue and develop a possible solution for the issue.
Middle School
Middle school students are presented with more specific projects that include autonomous robots, electric LED wiring, underwater robots and web design activities. Students in Seventh and Eighth grade compete in various competitions throughout the state using what they have learned and built.
