Mrs. Bourke has been the third grade teacher at Mount Calvary since January 2008. She has a Maryland State certification in elementary education and plans to complete her master's degree in Reading specialization by December 2011. Prior to teaching at Mount Calvary, she taught at a public school in Norfolk, Virginia, and at St. Hugh's Catholic School in Greenbelt.
Mrs. Bourke attended Mount Calvary from kindergarten through 8th grade. She then attended Elizabeth Seton High School and received a B.S. degree from the College of Mount St. Vincent in New York City.
Looking back, she feels very blessed that her parents sacrificed to give her a Catholic school education. Now as a teacher at her alma mater she wants to give her students the same faith-filled experience that she had.
She is deeply rooted and invested in a school that has given her so much. She feels so fortunate that her own son will be starting PreK at Mount Calvary in the fall.
